Mission Ministry

The Mission Ministry at Clinton Presbyterian Church has a two-fold purpose:  to oversee the congregation's involvement in Mission outreach and to recommend the allocation of funds for specific Mission projects.  After pledging Mission funds to Presbyterian causes (Presbytery, Synod, General Assembly), the Mission Ministry divides its benevolence account into four categories:  local, state, national and international.  Certain projects are funded on an annual basis, while others receive a single contribution based on current need (e.g. earthquake and flood relief).  New programs are suggested by members of the Ministry team or church members.

Special projects that are undertaken by the Mission Ministry on an annual basis include the Interfaith Hospitality Network, the Maine workcamp, Thanksgiving baskets and Christmas gifts for needy local residents, the Living Market for Heifer Project International (biannual), and the Christmas Giving Tree to collect presents for children on an Indian reservation in South Dakota as well as families in the Appalachia region of Kentucky.  The Mission Ministry also assists with special offerings throughout the year, such as One Great Hour of Sharing, Christmas Joy and Peacemaking.

As an anchor church for Raritan Valley Habitat for Humanity, we sponsor the construction of affordable housing in Hunterdon County.
