NOMINATING
The Nominating committee consists of 2 members of session, one Deacon and 4-6 members of the congregation. We make nominations for the offices of elder and deacon for the church. We begin our search for a new class of elders and deacons in January and hope to have a new slate of elders and deacons by the spring. Each class serves for 3 years. Individual qualifications of candidates as well as a balance of men and women, age and talent are considered.
We welcome input from the congregation and hope and pray that the members of our church take an active roll in developing Christ-centered leadership that supports the mission and ministry of Clinton Presbyterian Church.
Nominating
The Nominating Ministry Team is presently considering CPC members for Deacon and Elder positions. If you would like to recommend a member of the congregation or yourself for either of these positions please place his or her name in Bill Kreutel's mailbox or speak directly to any member of the nominating committee. Please be sure to include "why" you would like this member to be considered. We welcome your input.
In order to assist you in understanding the role of Deacons and Elders we have provided the following descriptions:
Deacons represent the heart of what it is to be a Christian. They offer their services to others by establishing contact and building relationships with the members of the church. They minister to those who are in need, to the sick and any who are distressed by making or delivering meals, providing needed transportation, praying for CPC members or offering a shoulder to lean on. They are resourceful people who cohesively hold a bank of talents as they meet the changing needs of the congregation.
Elders include a variety of people that reflect the diversity of the congregation. In faith and love of Jesus Christ they govern the church through active participation in spiritual, educational and practical activities of CPC. They chair or co-chair one of CPC's ministries which include Mission, Finance, Property, Worship, Christian Education and Membership. In thoughtful prayer, open discussions and focused study, they discern the plans that God has for our church.
Both Deacons and Elders believe in scripture and are open to the creativity of the Holy Spirit in our lives and the life of the church.
If you would like more information or have any questions regarding these positions please contact Bill Kreutel.
