Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries
About Us: Clinton Presbyterian Church is a thriving congregation (250+ members) in the PC(USA) and our fastest growing demographic is families with children! We celebrate this and are looking for an enthusiastic and creative leader who can guide as we seek to grow in faith and service together.
Job Title: Director of Children, Youth and Family Ministries
Job Type: Part Time/ 20 hours per week (Sunday morning and evening availability 1-2 nights per week is a must)
Responsibilities
Review our current ministries for children, youth and families and assess needs going forward
Coordinate existing programs and activities, including Sunday School, Youth Group (Jr and Sr High), Vacation Bible School, Sunday Funday, and Nursery Care and more.
Develop new opportunities for service, mission, community building and faith formation, suggesting creative and viable options to help grow our faith community and accessing resources as needed
Recruit and train volunteers across ministry areas, providing encouragement and support
Communicate with families in innovative and timely ways, share ministry news with the wider congregation frequently and actively advertise and promote CPC activities in the community
Collaborate with staff, ministry teams and volunteers on congregational activities
Share in our life together as a church family, joining in worship leadership on Sunday mornings and fellowship & community events throughout the year
Success in this ministry area over the next 2-3 years will look like:
Creative programming that inspires new volunteer leadership and increased participation from members and the community at large
Continued growth in the number of children, youth and families engaged in ongoing programs (both members and non-members)
Deeper connections forged between church and home as it relates to growing in faith
An increase in the number of families who call CPC home
Qualifications
Required
Demonstrates a deep Christian faith and an enthusiasm about sharing this faith with others while equipping them as disciples of Jesus
Ability to work with young children through college-aged youth with joy and enthusiasm
Excitement about fresh ideas and a willingness to try new things
Clear, concise, and motivating communication skills - both written and spoken - and proficiency across social media platforms
Is highly organized and inspires others, delegating responsibility as appropriate.
Preferred
Prior experience in leading children and youth activities, preferably church related activities
A college degree or background in ministry or a related field such as teaching, counseling, social work etc.
Before being hired, the candidate must pass a criminal background check
Salary: $23,000-$27,000
